Jacqueline was born in 1972 and spent most of her childhood in Newark-on-Trent, Nottinghamshire where she began drawing and painting from an early age.
She moved to Devon as a teenager and continued her interest in art throughout her studies, later training as a graphic designer. Her love of painting and the increase in demand for her work soon enabled her to establish a career as an artist.
Painting a wide variety of subjects from portraits to buildings, animals are undoubtedly one of her favourite painting subjects, whether wild or domestic. As a member of SOFA she has plenty of opportunity to explore the joys of painting the complex feline form. Her own two cats provide constant inspiration and an infinite supply of poses for her to include in her work. She also delights in searching for cats that are different from her own, providing a fresh challenge to capture their individual personalities.
She paints mainly in acrylic, but still enjoys producing the occasional work in gouache.
Jacqueline's love of wildlife is also a very prominent in her work. She takes great care to research the animal, studying its behaviour and distinctive character. Whether she is painting wildlife from Britain or exotic species, she strives to portray the animal in a natural habitat - capturing a typical moment and location.
Jacqueline has shown at the Mall Galleries, London with the Society of Wildlife Artists and the Royal Society of Portrait Painters.
